Now, more than ever, we urge you to support those fleeing injustice, war, persecution and disaster. A world of decency, welcomes refugees. We consider diversity, equity, and inclusion as values we treasure. We believe that we should treat others as we would have them treat us. We do not believe in masked secret police or that there is any justification for cruelty. We believe if we have more than we need, we should share our plenty with those less fortunate.
IRIS is an organization of principled decency. Understanding the plight of refugees and the difficulties facing immigrants is in their DNA. After the defunding of all non-governmental agencies supporting refugees; the current regime effectively ended our refugee program. The principled withdrawal from the US Resettlement Agency was necessary for IRIS to maintain its standards. These necessary changes are all the more reason to stand up and support their extraordinary work. In these times, we must fight for human rights, we must stand up for human dignity, and we should generously to those supporting this fight.
