Virtual Ostomy 5k - Worldwide

JOIN US AS WE CELEBRATE OUR 10th ANNIVERSARY!

We hope you will join us on Saturday, October 5, 2024 for Ostomy Awareness Day with your own 5k at your favorite place to run, walk, roll or pedal! You can even stay home and run or walk on your treadmill! This is also UOAA's 10th Anniversary of offering our Virtual Run for Resilience Ostomy 5k. Gather your friends, family, colleagues and/or fellow ASG Members and help us celebrate this milestone. REGISTERATION CLOSES ON SEPT. 15th AT MIDNIGHT EASTERN TIME!

Your Registration Fee of $34.00 includes a unisex adult or youth size T-Shirt and Bib. Registration will close on Sunday, September 15th at Midnight Eastern Time. Please note T-Shirt sizes and availability are no longer guaranteed.

REGISTERING FOR THE BIB ONLY?  If so, please register by Wednesday, September 25th by Noon to ensure the Bib is mailed to you. After September 25th a Bib will be e-mailed to you. Registration will close on Friday, October 4th at 12 Noon Eastern Time to ensure a Bib can be e-mailed to you by October 5th.

CREATE OR JOIN A RACE GROUP/TEAM!

Once you’ve registered you also have the option to CREATE a new RACE GROUP/TEAM or to JOIN one that’s already been established. This is a great way to get others in your community to Register to Participate in the Run and compete against each other. Invite family, friends, co-workers to Register, join your Race Group/Team (or start their own), order their T-Shirt & Bib and celebrate the day with you! (Please note this is NOT a Team Fundraiser. Raise $125 or more and your Registration Fee will be refunded!

Fundraising is an important aspect of our Run for Resilience Ostomy 5K. Funds raised help UOAA continue to provide resources, educational materials, advocacy and support to the ostomy and continent diversion community.

We invite you to set up your own Personal or Team Fundraiser when registering to participate in the event, or through our DONATE button at the top of this page. You can create a unique Fundraiser Name and URL address, personalize your fundraising message, and direct your friends and family to your page to join your team or sponsor you in your fundraising goal.

United Ostomy Associations of America (UOAA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports, empowers and advocates for the estimated 725,000 to 1 Million people who are living with an ostomy or continent diversion across the country. Your generous donation helps us to raise awareness of this life-saving surgery and to continue our mission of promoting their quality of life through information, support, advocacy and collaboration. RUN REFERRAL PROGRAM

Invite 5 other people to register and participate in the Run with you and you will be refunded $20 on YOUR registration! Simply share your unique referral link found on your registration confirmation page (email) "Remember to invite your friends with your special URL https:// ..." The referral program is valid for all in-person run locations and the virtual event so even if they cannot join you where you are, they can still celebrate from afar! 

CELEBRATE THE DAY!

♦ Run, walk, roll or pedal a 5k (3.1 miles) route of your choice near you.  Ask your family and friends to join you and create your own group or mini-event.  You can even run/walk on a treadmill or ride a stationary bike to reach your goal!

♦ Share your success! Take pictures of yourself doing your virtual race and email them to us or tag us on Facebook or Instagram.

♦ Promote ostomy awareness and education to your family, friends and community on Ostomy Awareness Day. Post your experience to both UOAA's Facebook page and the Run for Resilience Ostomy 5k Facebook page!

♦ Hashtag your photos #RunforResilience and #OstomyAwareness we may share on UOAA's pages on Twitter or Instagram.
