Join us on Saturday, October 5, 2019 for Ostomy Awareness Day (OAD) with your own 5k at your favorite place to run, walk or roll!
There is no fee to join this event. Gather your family and friends to have a great time, and to Run for Resilience! To ensure that you receive your free race Bib, please register by Monday, September 30th at 1:00 p.m. EST, otherwise your Bib will be emailed to you (on registrations received by 1pm EST on October 4th).
Attention ostomy nurses attending the Southeast Region of the WOCN Society Conference. A special Fun Run/Walk will be held on Friday, October 4th starting at 6:00 a.m. at the Trade Center, located at 801 Front Avenue, Columbus, GA. Your registration fee of $15.00 includes a Race T-Shirt specially designed with the WOCN Society Logo included on the front (fee increases to $18 after Sept. 13th). Please join your fellow nurses to raise awareness of this life-saving surgery and celebrate the resilience of those living with an ostomy at this special event. You can order a special Ostomy Awareness Day technical race t-shirt when you sign up for the virtual race. When registering, choose the option for Virtual Ostomy 5k – Including Technical T-shirt. The $15.00 fee ($18.00 after September 13th) includes shipping.
To ensure you receive the T-Shirt size you ordered, please register by Friday, September 13th. We will do our best to provide you with the T-Shirt size you ordered or a similar size, however, this is not guaranteed after September 13th. (Shirts and bibs can only be shipped to addresses in the USA. Registrants outside the USA, please contact UOAA on shipping options). Additional donations are appreciated to help offset costs. Bib numbers can be emailed worldwide.
CELEBRATE THE DAY!
♦ Run, walk or roll a 5k (3.1 miles) route of your choice near you. Ask your family and friends to join you, and create your own mini-event. You can even run/walk on a treadmill!
♦ Take pictures of yourself doing your virtual race and email them to us or tag us on Facebook or Instagram.
♦ Promote ostomy awareness and education to your family, friends and community on Ostomy Awareness Day. Post your experience to both UOAA's Facebook page and the Run For Resilience Facebook page!
♦ Hashtag your photos #RunforResilience and we may repost on Twitter or Instagram.
♦ Fundraising is an important aspect of our Run for Resilience Ostomy 5K. Funds raised help UOAA continue to provide resources, educational materials, advocacy and support to the ostomy and continent diversion community.
