For the past six years I have worked as a teacher at QSAC’s Whitestone Day School for students with autism. Our school is an incredible place where students of all abilities can learn, grow, and thrive. I am honored to work with students who inspire me every day and remind me that through hard work and dedication anything is possible.
Each year QSAC hosts a 5K to increase awareness about the need for autism services and raise funds to support our programs for children and adults with autism. This year’s race will not stop . We will do a virtual 5K. I’m thrilled to be running as part of the Whitestone Day School Trailblazers Team and hope that you’ll support my efforts to make a difference for my students by donating to our team or signing up to run with us virtually.
All of the funds raised through our 5K team page will directly support our students and vocational training program, which helps individuals with autism prepare to transition to adulthood and improve their ability to become employed. Through our program, students are learning about different career paths, enhancing their communication skills, working in our school store, and holding internships in the community – all important steps to finding a job after graduation and becoming more independent. A gift of any amount to my 5K fundraising page will have a direct impact on our program and help our students reach their full potential.
