Mel's Bio
Melanie has participated in multiple races where the Racine team has had a presence. She is also on the planning committee for the Waynesboro YMCA Tri, which has allowed her to work with Racine MultiSports to facilitate a successful event. All of these experiences motivated Melanie to reach out to Ken for a possible job opportunity. Melanie has been working with at-risk and adjudicated youth for over 20 years, so the opportunity to work in racing environments provides a great outlet to get rid of stress and find the motivation to maintain a healthy mind, body, & spirit.
In 2013 Melanie decided to take control of her future by developing a healthy lifestyle. She did that the old fashion way by moving more & eating less. As a result, she was able to lose close to 100 pounds. Melanie began running to lose weight and started running races as an accountability tool. She has done a few sprint triathlons & enjoys the challenge of the Tri. Her new fitness goal is to be able to backpack the Appalachian Trail from Southern Pennsylvania into Virginia.
