Supporting Public Lands
@ THE Mammoth: https://www.themammoth200.com/
Just over two years ago, I ran a half-marathon to raise funds for disaster relief from Hurricane Ian, which devastated the Gulf Coast of Florida, where my grandmother lives.
In just under a week, I will be running 214 miles to raise funds for a new initiative within Wander Project focused on helping support public lands with a focus on the trail running community. Things have escalated...
Wander Project partners with trail races near our nation's most beloved public lands, and has granted out over $1 million to charitable causes that are meaningful to the trail community. I am looking to build upon my work with Wander Project to launch a new initiative focused on protecting and supporting the public lands we recreate on. This initiative will leverage the expertise and connections of Wander Project in the trail running community to identify and fund the most impactful projects. With our public lands under threat from the proposed repeal of the Roadless Rule and increasing natural disasters, this is a tangible way to show your support.
Thanks for considering any donation amount. National Public Lands Day is this Saturday, September 27th! Now is the time to donate!
Suggested donation amounts:
$50 - High five
$100 - Very nice
$214 - $1 per mile
$500 - I'll send you a Wander Project bucket hat
Another option is to pledge a $ amount for every mile I run. It only needs to be $1....
The Details
If you're just here to watch me suffer, here is all the info you need. I start running on Friday morning with a nice wakeup climb to 11,000ft that will get my sea level blood cells firing. Then I'll continue on for approximately 200 more miles, circumnavigating a 760,000 year old caldera in the Eastern Sierras.

Public Lands Being Impacted By Climate Disasters
In May 2021, I did a 4-day backpacking loop through Desolation Wilderness on the south side of Lake Tahoe. Later that year, the Caldor Fire burned 221,835 acres in the El Dorado National Forest, where we were.
For the past several years, I have enjoyed running or biking through the Santa Monica Mountains every time I pass through LA. In January of 2025, the Palisades fire destroyed many communities that called those hills their home.
In May 2025, I completed R2R2R across the Grand Canyon with four friends. Just months later, the Dragon Bravo Fire completely devastated the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.
The impacts of climate disasters are becoming increasingly evident. One of Wander Project's initiatives is focused on trail restoration efforts (or preventative maintenance) to keep our cherished spaces open.
