Independence Hall

Visit Independence Hall, the place where both the Declaration of Independence was signed and the Constitution was created. Walk the streets and halls that Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, and other famous founding fathers once walked.

 

Liberty Bell

Located on 6th and Market, the original Liberty Bell sits in a glass building. Although the bell is visible from outside through the windows, you can also go through security to see the bell up close.

The Betsy Ross House

Visit the house where the American flag was first created. The Betsy Ross House gives you the chance to learn about Betsy through interactive programming. The house is a great place to bring kids if you are traveling as a family.

 

The Declaration (Graff) House

Curious to see where the famous words of the Declaration of Independence were first drafted? The Graff House is the old home of Thomas Jefferson, the writer of the Declaration of Independence. It is a now a museum where you can tour the rooms that Jefferson once lived in.

Christ Church

Christ Church was the Church of George Washington, Betsy Ross, Thomas Jefferson, and many other revolutionary-era figures. Step inside and see the architecture or go outside to the burial site of Benjamin Franklin. Throwing a penny on his grave is said to bring good luck!

 

Elfreth's Alley

Take a step down the country's oldest residential neighborhood. Elfreth's Alley is still inhabited by Philadelphians today, with two of the 32 homes being museums. Come to know the neighborhoods that the nation's founders called home.
