Bobby and FCSN CrewBobby Halton was also a humble provider to the Firefighter Cancer Support Network (FCSN), first as a friend, mentor, and advocate but most recently as a survivor. Cancer is the leading cause of firefighter line-of-duty deaths. Bobby’s cancer connected him deeply with FCSN and our mission. As a survivor, he understood the challenges, stress, joys, setbacks, and the many ups and downs one faces when fighting cancer.  Always wanting to make a difference, he helped our mission by often speaking of the work we do and providing opportunities to our team, many that have assisted thousands of firefighters through their cancer battle.
After ringing the bell following his final cancer treatment, he passed on the Courage and Valor run to FCSN to provide an opportunity to expand outreach and funding through the FDIC FCSN 5 Alarm 5K Run to Remember. The event is an opportunity to remember our brothers and sisters in the fire service battling cancer, honor firefighters who’ve lost their battle, and celebrate firefighter cancer survivors.   Money raised from the run supports the mission of the FCSN, to assist firefighters and EMS providers and their immediate families diagnosed with cancer by providing badge to badge support, training and guidance.  The FCSN is the only organization in the world that provides a unique badge-to-badge mentorship, our one-of-a-kind cancer support toolbox that includes our handbook of resources, The Firefighter’s Guide to Cancer Survivorship as well as our Taking Action Against Cancer in the Fire Service training program.
The 5 Alarm 5k Run to Remember is your chance to get out and show your commitment to Bobby’s legacy and our mission. We ask that you follow in his footsteps and become an advocate, mentor and fundraiser for a cause that is impacting so many of our brothers and sisters and their family members.
Our goal this year is to raise $100,000.00 in honor of Bobby Halton Run, fundraise or support our event in honor of Bobby. Together we can honor this admirable and unforgettable man and his commitment to the FCSN, our mission and all of you that are confronted with a cancer fight.  The top fundraising team will receive Bobby Halton Award as we honor Bobby with this annual award for fundraising to recognize a man that dedicated so much of himself to our cause and to YOU, because… “you were worth it!”
In loving memory of Chief "Bobby" Halton, the Halton family is proud to announce that this year's recipient of the Bobby Halton Award for the 2024 FCSN 5 Alarm 5K Run to Remember will receive conference costs for FDIC 2025. This will include lodging and transportation for the event.
"Bobby would want our nation's firefighters to know that they matter, their service and sacrifice count, and that he is with them every step of the way on their cancer journey." The Halton family

Thank you,
