The team-based Chamber Challenge 5K is designed to promote community wellness through friendly competition between businesses. The certified 5k course begins and ends at the Asheville Chamber of Commerce and winds through the historic Montford neighborhood. Gather your co-workers, family and friends to compete as a 4 person team. Whether you walk every step or sprint to the finish, we know you're up to the challenge!

Prizes will be awarded to the top male, female and co-ed teams and individuals. Prizes will also be given to the top team in each of our industry categories: Health/Wellness, Manufacturing, Education, Government & Nonprofit, Finance, Professional Services, Hospitality, Media/Information Services, Recreation and Other. The Chamber Challenge should be fun! The Chamber Challenge is for everyone. Sure, we have some hot shots that sprint the whole course, but most participants go at their own pace. And some people walk the entire course.
Beginning April 4, 2017, YMCA of Western North Carolina will lead free training sessions on Tuesdays beginning at 5:30 p.m. Join us at the Asheville Chamber of Commerce building (36 Montford Avenue). Trainings will last from 45 minute to 1 hour and are designed for people of all fitness levels. YMCA Healthy Living Coordinator and trainer Jesse Hyder provides a training program that prepares you for the Chamber Challenge whatever your personal fitness goals are - from first-time walkers to active runners who want to improve. Training may include wellness tips, stretching, walking, running, etc. YMCA staff will address individual needs and give you tips and encouragement.
