Up for a friendly challenge??
Put together your best team of four (4) to run on behalf of your church. The team with the best combined time will win the coveted Carry Your Cross Team Trophy and bragging rights for the year as a the "Fastest Church Team".
Anyone can set up a Church Team. [Do so when you register.] This person will be the "Captain". Invite other runners can join your team. Each team is limited to four (4) team members. Have 8 -12-16 runners from your church? Set up multiple teams!
All four (4) team members must finish the 5K for your team to included in the Church Team Challenge.
Note: all participants in the Church Team Challenge are also included in the Overall and Age Group scoring/results.

The Kids 1K is FREE. However - we do ask that each child be registered online or onsite. T-shirts will be available for purchase the morning of the race.
The Kids 1K gives children age 6 and up a taste of the Carry Your Cross 5K in that the children will run down and back up the final leg of the 5K course but do not have to carry a cross unless they choose one.
Parents be advised that this 1K course does take children onto a road that is not; however, it is a VERY low traffic side street and course marshals will be present to help direct runners. You are welcome to run this with your child.
Medals will be given to the top 3 male and female runners in this Fun Run.
You will still have to check in on race day to get a name tag for your child if you plan on using the free child care during the 5K.

We are thrilled to dedicate the proceeds from our race to Western Carolina Rescue Ministries. For the past 36 years, Western Carolina Rescue Ministries (WCRM) in downtown Asheville has been serving the homeless community. WCRM's mission is to help provide rescue, recovery and restoration to people in crisis. They seek to care for them with dignity, while restoring them to become healthy, productive citizens of our community. Whether it's a hot meal, a warm shelter, or recovery from addiction, they hope their compassion shines onto each individual they meet. The proceeds from this race will help support some immediate needs at WCRM. These needs include:

FREE: The Little Kids Fun Run is a short race for children age 2-5. Children age 2-3 run one lap and then children age 4-5 run two laps. This race will begin after the Kids 1K is finished approximately at 10:20am so that parents can watch all of their children run!
We provide childcare during the 5K so that adults can participate too! T-shirts will be available for purchase on race day.
