Greater Williamsburg Distance Running Club (GWDRC) was established in 2014 and has gradually grown to promote distance running and now pole vaulting in the Greater Williamsburg area.  We have club practices and promote running with free or low-cost cross-country and track youth races. 

GWDRC is the returning Girls Middle School Club State Champions and Boys Middle School State Champion Runner-ups.  Jonathan Grimm set the state record for the 4k in 12:45 and recently ran 15:19 at the Dog Street run 5k breaking his road race state record.

 Amelia Valenti was the state champion runner-up!

Isabella Strumke was the girls' Elementary School State Champion and continues to break multiple records for 10 and under!

Start Date:  Monday - August 26th

Practice Days: Monday/Wednesday/Friday 5-6 pm

Premier Race: Elementary and Middle School State Championship (Mid-October) Pole Green Park - Mechanicsville, VA

1 or 2 other races races or mini race on Green Spring Trail

End Date: Early/Mid-November

​3rd-8th graders -  - $100.00 for season

9-12th grade Home School - $100.00 for season

$20.00 AAU Membership (all athletes must join AAU to participate)

​SIGN UP FOR the NEW AAU MEMBERSHIP AFTER AUGUST 1st, 2024 so it will last until the following August 31st. 

All members must be part of AAU and have renewed their membership prior to the first day of practice.  Current memberships expire on August 31st, 2023.
