As I am sure you all realize with race season now here and covering the next 8-10 months,
there are many race opportunities available to all of us, What some of you might not be aware of
is that the Badgerland Striders put on 15 Races a year.

While you as a Strider are not required to run any of them, we would appreciate if you
considered running or helping at some.

As I noted above there are many choices and I recognize the desire to experience a few outside
our sampling. The fact is that our race participation is falling, and we may soon have to consider
ending some of our races. The Club’s finances have not been great since 2020 and we are
struggling to remain profitable.

We are a non-profit but that doesn’t mean that we don’t need to make a profit on races. We also
put on a plethora of Fun Runs, Marathon Build Ups and other programs for the member’s
entertainment. In addition, our goals include giving back to the community. In the past year we
have made donations to many Middle and High School Running Programs. We also have given
money to The Friends of Lapham Peak and other trails groups.

We would like to continue and indeed increase these charitable donations but to do that we
need to increase our profitability.

There are other ways to increase profitability but none of them are very pleasant either.
