Strider Half

Location: Estabrook Park - Milwaukee WI

The Strider Half Marathon is our late summer Half Marathon.  The course starts and finishes in Estabrook Park at the beer garden.  The race features the cool shade of the Oak Leak Trail bike path for much of the course and finishes at the beer garden where we enjoy a great post-race party with breakfast, beverages, beer and music! This run falls perfectly into most marathon build up plans.

Runners will be gathering at Lapham Peak State Park to see how many miles they can cover in the time frame selected; the 12 and 6 hour divisions have day or night options.  There is also the "Distance" division, for runners who want to cover a certain distance (such as a marathon, 50K, 50 miles, etc.), but feel they may need more time than the 6 or 12 hours.  Join us, and let's see how FAR you can go!

Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon

The 42nd edition of the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon, Half Marathon, 5k Run and Walk The Hoan will take place in downtown Milwaukee, crossing the iconic Hoan Bridge. This race is known for its scenic route along the beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline, providing participants with stunning views throughout the race. Whether you're participating in any of the four events, you're in for an unforgettable experience in one of Wisconsin's most scenic cities and great lakes.

The Lakefront Discovery Run features two race distances: a 15k and a 5k and a free Children's race. Each distance can be run, walked, skipped, or hopped. There will be age group awards as well as awards for overall winners. More importantly, there will be an award for ‘Best Costume’ as voted on by the event volunteers (please don’t bribe the volunteers). The run begins at Veterans Park and provides a delightful tour of Milwaukee’s lakefront. There will be candy laden aid stations on the course to fuel your run and satisfy your sweet tooth. Each runner AND volunteer will receive an event t-shirt, traditional post-race snacks, enough candy to make a dentist cringe and the best part? Oh, we’ve got a rocking post-race party planned with free beer and snacks! Come out and celebrate a successful season of Strider running!

This is a Prediction Run: All runners, regardless of speed have a chance to win a turkey! How do you do it? When you sign up, you will be asked to predict your race finish time. Enter your prediction, then run that time on race day. It's as easy as pie, or in this case turkey!

Awards: 25 participants in each event who finish closest to their predicted time will receive a full-sized turkey.  Limit one turkey per family. A total of 50 turkeys will be given away at the event! The number of turkeys awarded could be lowered if the number of registered runners is below 200. You must be present to win, we can not hold these frozen birds or deliver them.  

Special Rules: No watches or timing devices allowed. No splits will be given. No mile markers provided.

GOOD DAY to HAVE A PR!!!  A Pettit Race that is!

We're doing both a 5k distance and a One Hour run off-season mojo on a super fast track (Hint: no wind/no hills)

We are going to run as far as you can in one hour! Sure, you may wish to compete against the runner for you (and how much fun is that!) but you are also going to push yourself farther and faster than you ever have just because you know the clock is clicking...down!!!!

But wait -there is even a third option?!?!? We have a "virtual" outside running option. This is for the people that don't necessarily like running inside in circles but want to support the great causes associated with this race, want the cool Strider PR shirt, and want to enjoy the post run party.  

And we’re continuing the fun with a kids run of 1 lap around the track! this will take place immediately after the One Hour Run at approximately 10:10 am
