Group Runs

For the most up to date information on group runs and all BRC events, please visit our club calendar.

Please check the club calendar before going to a group run as there are occasional exceptions and cancellations.

Time: 6:00 p.m.

Location: Meet in front of the Manatee Central Library in downtown Bradenton at 1301 Barcarrota Ave W, Bradenton, FL  34205

PLEASE NOTE THAT LIBRARY RESTROOMS CLOSE AT 6:00 P.M.  We recommend arriving by 5:45 p.m. to use the library restrooms, water fountains, etc.

Route: The run travels over the green bridge, down the fishing pier and through Palmetto before returning back over the bridge.

Routes up to 6 miles are available. All paces welcome, from walking to very fast.

This is the club’s largest training run and your best bet to find someone who runs your pace. Members are almost always in attendance to answer questions. Restrooms and water fountains are available in the Manatee Central Library but the library closes at 6:00 p.m. sharp. Many go out for refreshments after the run at one of the downtown Bradenton establishments.

*** You must be a current BRC member in order to attend due to school district insurance policy. ***

Time:  6:00 p.m.

We do a group dynamic warm up at 6:00 p.m. but you may arrive as early as 5:45 p.m. to run/walk some warm up laps in a clockwise direction.

Location:  Manatee High School track.  Use this address for directional/GPS purposes: 1113 32nd St W, Bradenton, FL 34205 (this address is different than the school's official address but it is specific to the track parking lot).  Enter track parking lot from 32nd St W between 11th Ave W and 13th Ave W.

Coach Rae Ann will be there early so you may arrive as early as 5:45 p.m. to warm up, change, use restroom, etc. We start dynamic warm up as a group at 6:00 p.m.  All paces and abilities are welcome.  You may do the workout provided or do your own thing.  You must be a current BRC member to participate in this group run due to insurance.  Everyone must also sign a waiver one time per year at the track in order to use the track.

REMINDER: There are no outside water fountains at MHS so please bring plenty of your own water.

Track etiquette includes:

  • Warm up, cool down, and do all recovery jogs in outer lanes.
  • Save lanes 1-2 for fast running only.
  • If you hear someone yell “TRACK!” that means they are alerting you to please move from that lane so you don’t get run over and/or cause injury to others.
  • No headphones in lanes 1 or 2 since you cannot hear what is going on around you.
  • No strollers, bikes, or wheels of any kind on the track.
  • No pets.

Road Runners Club of America has a great article on etiquette:
