About Alumni Chapters

WHAT IS AN ALUMNI CHAPTER?
Alumni chapters are groups of alumni members at the local level. They could be a county alumni, or an alumni chapter for a particular high school program. Their efforts directly benefit FFA members in the area of the alumni chapter. In this case, we will be supporting the Cape Fear High FFA Chapter.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF AN ALUMNI CHAPTER?
Agriculture teachers rely on FFA alumni members to help ease the outside commitments of teaching, bring more support to agricultural education programs and give teachers more freedom to do what they do best - teach students! Alumni chapters are 501(c)3 non-profits and can help raise money for FFA members to attend conferences, competitions, and pay for other hands-on opportunities that the FFA offers.

ALUMNI CHAPTERS:
Chaperone chapter, regional, state and national functions
Offer resources to help train for competitions.
Help the chapter with their fund raising efforts
Raise money for an annual scholarship
Assist with organizing the chapter banquet
Serve as advocates for Agricultural Education at school board meetings

BECOMING A MEMBER
Membership is open to anyone who supports FFA and agricultural education.  That includes former members, teachers, administrators, parents, county commissioners, school board members, business owners, and other community members.  Alumni members take an active part in building a sense of community at the local, state and national level.  As a member, your commitment helps ensure the continued success of America's premier youth leadership organization.
