2024 Sea Rim Striders Club Member Application Waiver

I know that running and volunteering to work club races, Assisting Local Events, SRS in-person Club Promotions, and assisting in other non-event areas, are potentially hazardous activities. I should not volunteer or run in club activities unless I am medically able and properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to my ability to safely complete the event or volunteering. I assume all risks associated with running and volunteering to work club races including, but not limited to, falls, contacts with other participants, the effects of the weather, including high heat and/or humidity, the conditions of the road and traffic on the course, all such risks being known and appreciated by me. 

I understand I will receive periodic emails from SRS; including, but not limited to, quarterly SRS meeting date announcements, SRS Events information, local Race discounts, volunteer opportunities we assist with in the community, in-person SRS promotions we may need help with, any important race industry news or offers, and any other important information regarding the Club or RRCA.

I understand that information contained in this Membership may be given in part or in full to ROAD RUNNERS CLUB OF AMERICA, as a conditional agreement for Sea Rim Striders Membership with RRCA.

I understand that there are no refunds for this Membership, even if due moving or emergencies.

I understand I am responsible for any charges/fees from the banking institution for any bounced checks, declined credit/debit cards, or any other reason that the transaction did not go through. 

I understand that I may request a cancellation, and the organizers of SEA RIM STRIDERS have the right to cancel this Membership, per Sea Rim Striders Bylaws:

             a.      Request for Membership cancelation shall be in writing to the Membership Coordinator, which must be kept as record with Membership forms.
             b.      Cancellations shall be noted in the minutes at the next Board Meeting.
                     1.      Anyone seeking to reinstate their Membership, must get Board Approval and Pay new Membership fee
             c.      Upon becoming aware of a Members’ criminal sexual conviction, Sea Rim Striders reserves the right to cancel the membership immediately and notify the Member by email or any other method of recording the message in written format.  Member will receive official cancellation in writing, by mail. President or Vice President will handle the notice. 
             d.      Cancelling Membership forfeits all rights to vote in any upcoming Meetings and Elections, and Member will be asked to return Membership card.

I understand that I should conduct myself respectfully, as a Club Member representing Sea Rim Striders:
• Show respect to fellow club members at all times
• Always show respect and appreciation for the volunteers who give their time to help the Club and/or the Club’s event(s)
• Never yell, taunt, or threaten physical violence upon another member of the Club, a Volunteer or an event spectator
• Never use abusive or vulgar language, or make racial, ethnic or gender-related slurs or derogatory comments at Club events
• Never make unwanted sexual or physical contact with other members
• Always respect SRS Sponsors, vendors and prize donors; follow instructions on how to claim prizes.

I consent that I read, understand, and agree to abide by the information stated in the waiver on this form; and I have informed my family, including minor children, of the information contained in waiver.

Having read this waiver, and knowing these facts and in consideration of your accepting my entry, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release the SEA RIM STRIDERS and Road Runners Club of America, Member Perk business participants, any volunteers, contract service providers; Runsignup.com, their representatives and successors, from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my becoming a Sea Rim Striders Member and participating in club activities, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons names in this waiver.
