Lake Run Club in conjunction with Easter Seals and the Run the Woods race committee, are promoting Ales and Trails summer runs. These runs will start at Keg Grove. These hybrid trail runs should prepare runners for Run The Woods in October and bring awareness to TimberPointe, and Easterseals. In addition, those in attendance will get a discount code for Run the Woods Registration, and one free entry for the Run the Woods, 5k or 8k will be awarded. Keg Grove will also take $1.00 off a drink of choice upon conclusion of your run.
Register for Ales and Trails
There are two courses both will start and finish at Keg Grove at 5:45 PM. The 2 mile course will run north towards the triangle at Connie Link. There is a park bench on the West Side of the trail after the fork of the northbound trail. Look to your east, for orange tape marking the trail entrance. There is a small single track trail section at the triangle. The trail section will exit near the gazebo, at Connie Link. Circle back and run the trail section twice and head back to Keg Grove.
The 4.2 mile course will proceed north on the trail, running to the camelback bridge, and exit the trail to the east. Then run the side walk towards Linden street. Crossing Linden street, using caution crossing Linden running east on Virginia Ave. Follow Virginia Ave, turning right on Stephens Drive running downhill on Maplewood drive. Turning right on Belt drive, then turn left on Ethel Parkway toward Ewing Park II. Once at Ewing II park, there is a trail head that runs towards the south, and borders the athletic field. Look for orange marking tape. You will loop around the athletic field, then cross the bridge and run the trail around Jersey hill, then cross the same bridge and run back to Keg Grove. You can run both courses for additional distance, or add another loop within Jersey Hill.
