Annual Meeting Meeting Minutes

Lake Run Club
Minutes of the Annual Meeting of the Board of Directors February 3, 2023, 6:30 PM, Destihl Brewery, Bloomington Illinois

Attendees: Board Members - Tod Williamson, John Pratt, Kirby Cheek, Mitch Hobbs, Barb Cox, Laurie Sexton, Kevin McCarthy, Bill Hahm

Note: LRC board meetings usually last a few hours. The agenda for the annual board meeting is tailored to quickly address matters specific to the annual meeting, as a result this meeting tends to be short.

Introduction: Tod Williamson introduced the current board members and encouraged all club members who are interested in being board members to contact us. There is always turnover on the board so we welcome new members with new ideas and enthusiasm.

Minutes: The minutes from the 2022 annual meeting were distributed to all members present and were unanimously approved.

Treasurer’s report: As per the Note above, we did not do our usual deep dive on the treasurer's report, instead Tod Williamson noted that this is the first year since 2017 that the club has posted a small profit (back in black) and encouraged any members interested in seeing the treasurer's report to contact the board.

New Public Communications Director: Tod Williamson announced that Jill Usiak is handing the baton to Holly-Rae Van hoof to be our Public Communications Director (PCC). This is a new position that was created in December of 2020 to improve communications with our members. Jill did an amazing job of breathing new life into the newsletter, notifying members of upcoming events and handling other behind-the-scenes activities that are needed to make the club work. We owe her a huge round of applause for helping to get the financial report ‘back in black’. Holly Rae did not stumble on that hand off. She is embarrassing us with her enthusiasm, skills and ideas. It’s going to be a good year for the club.

Bylaw change: Because the logistics of holding the Annual Meeting in January can be challenging, John Pratt proposed a change to the bylaw which states that the Annual Meeting will be held in January to instead say “...the first quarter.” The proposal was passed.

New business: No new business
Being no further business to come before the members, the meeting was adjourned.
