RunGR is a Grand Rapids’ area running group who lives, trains and runs to become better athletes. We’re a group of everyday people accomplishing amazing things on the road and the trails.
RunGR has a training coach, Michael Wojciakowsi a Level II certified USA Track & Field coach.
Commonly known as Coach Woj, Woj is much more than a coach:
An exceptional individual with a serious passion for running, Woj has built a widely acclaimed reputation in the local running community and for getting the best out of his athletes. Woj’s commitment and desire to do the little things without needing recognition set him apart. At the sidelines cheering us on, waking up at the crack of dawn on morning long runs to set out GU, Gatorade, and water and within the first few times of meeting a new member, Woj has memorized their name and is talking to them to figure out what their goals are. RunGR believes Woj helps runners train to their greatest potential.
Coach Woj also serves on the board for the Lake Michigan Credit Union Bridge Run and has helped to make the RunGR event a premier race in Michigan. He also has helped to develop a wellness sponsorship through the Bridge Run that connects companies with training resources with the goal of creating healthier employees. Along with his work with the Bridge Run, Coach Wojciakowski also brought the “Magic of the Mile” to the Grand Rapids area. This event provides a way for individuals of all abilities to get onto the track and run a hard mile under the lights.
Being a husband, father, and Aquinas College’s Head Cross Country coach is demanding enough, but Woj is ever present with RunGR giving us his best guidance, knowledge, cheering and motivation.

2020 Event Dates Coming Soon!
Connect with us via the RunGR Facebook page and stay up to date on upcoming events and workouts! We also have a Members Only Facebook Group that members can join to discuss upcoming events and training.
One of the best parts of our hobby is that it takes place outdoors. We typically will hold practices rain or shine, snow or sleet, hot or cold. Yet, we will occasionally be forced to change our plans due to Mother Nature. Our goal is both the safety of our members traveling to the practice and during the run. The RunGR board will use this policy to make decisions on when we would need to cancel or madify the schedule. RunGR Practices will be canceled or modified if:
We will try to make all decisions two hours prior to the scheduled time. Communications will be posted on our Facebook page. When canceled, coach nor any board member will be present.
