Welcome to Happy's Running Club—where every Tuesday feels like a celebration. This isn't just another run club; it's an experience unlike any other. Every week, runners and walkers of all abilities gather in downtown Baton Rouge for miles, laughs, and great company. Whether you're looking for training partners, to meet new people, post-run fun or to just to be a part of something... we got you. From 5Ks to ultramarathons—and even the occasional beer mile—our members run it all. No matter your pace, you'll always find encouragement and camaraderie. Afterward, we keep the good times rolling with drinks from our host bar, O'Hara's, and food from our favorite downtown spots.

We run a 5K at 6:15 every Tuesday from O'Hara's Irish Pub 136 Third St in downtown Baton Rouge! All paces welcome!

Member T-Shirt Info
When you sign up to be a Happy’s member, you get a technical shirt. We order the number of shirts that match the number of members at the time PLUS a couple extra in case some people sign up late or after the shirts have been ordered. If you sign up and we are out of the newest shirt, meaning you were not a member when we ordered the shirts, we will offer you a tech shirt from the past or the option to wait for the next shirt.
What if shirts come out twice in the year of your membership?
Happy’s Running Club offers rolling memberships, which means your membership begins the day you sign up. While this is great news for you, it may not align with when we order shirts. Officially, you get one tech shirt per yearly membership. If you are signed up and t-shirts come out twice in your year of membership, we just ask that if you get two shirts, you sign up for two years of membership, etc. When it is time to renew, renew. Note that Run sign up now has the option to auto-renew.

Happy's 5000 and beer mile
The Happy’s 5000 is the premier event hosted by Happy’s Running Club each year! This family-friendly celebration brings together running, camaraderie, and everything we love about Baton Rouge. The festivities kick off with a 5K, followed by both a highly competitive Beer Mile and a non-competitive Beer Mile—complete with a festive costume contest! Add in some delicious Southern cooking, tasty beverages, and plenty of post-race fun, and you have an event that is about much more than just running. For the past three years, the Happy’s 5000 has proudly raised money for Keep Tiger Town Beautiful. This year, we were thrilled to donate $3,000 to support their efforts to make our community cleaner and more beautiful! Whether you’re a runner, walker, jogger, or wogger, come support this locally loved race, have a great time, and help make Baton Rouge a better place in more ways than one.
The 2027 Happy’s 5000 is tentatively scheduled for July 17, 2027. We hope to see you there!
