This program is a non-competitive run club for children. The club is divided into Junior (ages 5-8) and Senior (9-12) age groups.
We meet once a week for 8 weeks during the summer beginning the week of May 17th.
Knoxville Club meets at Bluegrass Elementary School on Tuesday mornings.
Maryville Club meets at Maryville Middle School on Wednesday mornings.
As is usually the case with children's sports, we would love the help of some parent volunteers! If you would like to help coach your child's club, please sign up for this 'membership'.
You will be provided with a coach's manual and will assist Jaq at the weekly sessions to help wrangle kids and help facilitate activities.

As a Mother Runner, I wasn't happy that there seemed to be no options for my child to join their own running club just like Mom! I did my research, found a great program, and am thrilled to be able to share it with you all!
The Kids Run the Nation program is a non-competitive run club founded on the basics of running and being healthy. The sessions are short, 30 minutes, to allow children time to have fun without being overwhelmed or bored. We will cover aspects of running from dynamic warm up, stretching, nutrition, pacing and how to enjoy a race day.To keep each session age appropriate we are offering a Junior club for children 5-8 years old, and a Senior club for children 9-12 years old.
Session will be held starting on September 22, 2021.
NEW FOR FALL
Each child will receive a running log book and 'training plan' for them to follow during the week between sessions. This is to help integrate more academics for the home school crowd. We will be doing more things like structured lessons, calculating mileage and pace, and setting and achieving goals. We will even read some (children's) books about runners to incorporate some history as well. If you have a specific homeschool curriculum you are following and would like to try to hit specific standards within your curriculum, let Jaq know! She has made several programs to fit different curricula and will love to help you fit this program into yours.
