Nathan Syrek Memorial 5K & 1-Mile Walk: Millie Strong in 2025!
We invite you to support the Nathan Syrek Memorial 5K & 1-Mile Walk in 2025 as we rally around a courageous little girl, Millie Jolene. We are also excited to announce that the Nathan Syrek Memorial Fund is now a 501(c)(3) non-profit, making all donations and sponsorships tax-deductible.

Our Mission: 

• Honoring Nathan’s Legacy in Faith – Celebrating Nathan’s spirit of kindness, generosity, and faith as a testament to God’s enduring love.
• Supporting Families with Compassion – Helping a family facing significant hardship, inspired by the grace Nathan’s family received during his cancer journey.
• Strengthening Community Spirit – Bringing our community together to offer prayers of support and witness how the Holy Spirit turns sorrow into hope and love.

Supporting Millie Conran
The proceeds from the 2025 Nathan Syrek Memorial 5K & sponsorships will support Millie Jolene and the Conran family. Millie Jolene was born in September 2017 with a rare genetic disorder called MFDM, which affects her heart, brain, bones, spine, and organs. One of her most critical conditions was the failure of her esophagus to develop and connect properly, requiring extensive surgeries. She spent 252 days in the NICU at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital before transferring to Boston Children’s Hospital, where specialists successfully repaired her esophagus. Despite complications and the need for additional surgeries, Millie continues to receive treatment at Boston and Cincinnati Children’s Hospitals.

Now seven years old, Millie has undergone more than 25 surgeries and continues to exemplify resilience and strength. Having walked a similar journey with Nathan’s battle against cancer, we deeply empathize with the Conran family and the ongoing challenges they face.

If sponsorship isn’t possible at this time, we ask that you keep the Syrek and Conran families in your hearts and prayers on April 19, 2025, or consider attending the race as a participant.
