The River to River Runners Club was established in 1984 as an outgrowth of the Herrin Road Runners to promote running and fitness in Southern Illinois. Organizing and conducting quality running events has been the Club's primary goal since its inception. An equally important objective; however, is to encourage running as sport and healthful exercise, and to support activities which educate the community about the importance of physical fitness. To further these goals, the River to River Runners now boasts a membership of over 400 and includes individuals from ten different states.

It sponsors a wide variety of races and other running-related activities throughout the year, providing something for every member, no matter what age, sex, or running ability.

Best of all, camaraderie and mutual support remain the touchstones for River to River members.

Updates/Race Calendar

If you have noticed the club page looks different, that is because Runsignup is updating the way it works with running clubs. With the update comes some new things but we temporarily lose some of what we are used to. We will be updating the new page over time. We know our members like the race calendar. For now the best way to look for races is to search the runsignup homepage  or the So iLL Racing page. So iLL Racing

At the top of the runsignup page is the "find a race" box. Click on that and then go to the advanced search tab. Leave the event name empty and fill out the other fields to your liking and search. This will pull up all the races in that area.

Herinfesta Road Races!

The next club event will be the Herrinfesta Road Races and is May 27!! The Herrinfesta Road Races has a long history of families and friends coming together on Memorial Day to have fun, to suffer in the heat for a few miles, while reconsidering their hobby. If you have never ran it before then you should come join us for a really fun time. With one of the fastest courses around, runners can come to Herrin and shoot for a new PR. This is a family friendly event with a few race options. The 10k run, the 5K walk, the Park Avenue Mile, and the kids fun run mile. Ambitious runners can even sign up for both the 10k and the mile.
