FAQs
Do I have to be able to walk or run a certain pace in order to join?
No, come as you are, we have Team Leaders and Pacers who can help place you in an appropriate group to help you reach your goal.
Do I have to train for a half or full marathon to join?
Absolutely not. You are welcome to just join for the camaraderie and to be more active. We do have training for those who would like to try a 5k. Who knows where that will lead, maybe a 10k or 10 miler.
I don't have a 'runners body', will I fit in?
Of course, walkers and runners come in all shapes and sizes. You can do whatever you set your mind too. Let us help you reach your goal.
How will I know where to start?
Just ask a Team Leader or Pacer, they will ask a few questions about your current fitness level in order to find you the best place to start so you can be successful in your training.
Do I have to stay in the group I start with?
You can if you like, but you are welcome to hop around until you find your groove. As you continue your fitness journey you may find you need to move to a faster pace or longer distance. We can help you find what works for you, but you will get to make that decision for yourself.
What about injuries?
If you are recovering from an injury and the doctor has given you clearance to be active again, we want you to come back to the group and continue training. You can move to a walk group, interval training and shorter distances to suit your recovery plan. You are welcome to come and visit and stay connected to team members even if you cannot participate. We miss you when you are not here.
