On October 7, 2023, Hamas’s horrific terrorist attack killed 1,400 Israelis, wounded 5,000 others, and took more than 200 civilians hostage. They are being held by Hamas in unknown conditions – young men and women, grandmothers, grandfathers, and babies. Citizens of countries around the world.
Maccabi World Union and the Maccabiah have embarked upon a campaign to house, feed, clothe, and provide essential counseling and other services to 800+ Israeli evacuees. In addition, the organization is leveraging the power of the international sports community to make sure that the release and well-being of the hostages being held by Hamas in Gaza remains front and center in the hearts and minds of the entire world.
Speaking up for hostages is not political. It is humanitarian. We must bring them home. Now.
