Peace of Mind: 10,000 Steps in the Right Direction

Donation Goal: $250,000

Alma Rosa proprietors Bob & Barb Zorich are doubling all donations made through Peace of Mind dollar-for-dollar up to $35,000 for each charity, for a total of $70,000.

As a participant in Peace of Mind you have the ability to raise funds among friends and family to help us achieve our overall goal of $250,000. Each walk participant will automatically have their own fundraising page established for them. You can choose to support the charity of your choice, Mental Wellness Center or One Mind. If you choose not to fundraise, you may hide your fundraising page from public view by going to your profile.

Since 1947, the Mental Wellness Center has been building hope for individuals and families, providing support in recovery and raising awareness of mental health within the Santa Barbara community. This important organization provides mental health education to local students, a residential services program which safely provides a home to more than 100 community members across seven residential sites, and serves individuals & families impacted by mental illness through support groups, employment services and social connection programs like the Fellowship Club, an on-site social day club and safe space with resources for those living with mental health struggles.

Launched in 1995 by Shari and Garen Staglin as their means to “run toward the problem” of their son’s schizophrenia diagnosis, One Mind is today a leading mental health non-profit that heals lives by direct support for neuropsychiatric brain research. By convening the brightest minds in brain science and advocacy around a collective vision of "Accelerating Brain Health for All”, One Mind is advancing a three-pronged program strategy of accelerating discoveries, improving services, and transforming culture. Through such achievements as enrolling over 10,000 patients in innovative clinical studies and the One Mind at Work initiative that has brought supportive workplace mental health practices to over 7 million employees, One Mind is creating a world where all facing brain health challenges can build healthy, productive lives. Brandon Staglin, whose own experiences triggered the creation of the non-profit, now serves as its President, exemplifying the change One Mind seeks in its disruptive research and workplace initiatives.
