Along with my UW Health Transplant Center team, I am supporting National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin (NKFW) with the 2023 Cool Beans Adventure. This event is a virtual challenge that raises awareness and support for people in our community impacted by kidney disease or organ transplantation. Please consider joining me in this adventure by making a gift, joining my team, or amplifying the message by sharing this with family and friends.
In 2023 we will be striving to log 19 miles of activity between July 12 and the closing celebration on July 22. The number 19 represents the fact that only 1 in 9 people with kidney disease are aware of their condition. By catching kidney disease early, encouraging appropriate interventions, and increasing the availability of organs for transplant - we can help people in Wisconsin enjoy more healthy years.
