National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin's 2023 Cool Beans Adventure Awaits!
National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin invites you to join Cool Beans Adventure 2023. This hybrid event encourages you to choose your own adventure as we raise awareness and funds to support people impacted by kidney disease and organ transplant across Wisconsin. Here is how it works:
- Register for Cool Beans with your $35 entry fee ($10 for kids 12 and under) to get your swag pack and admission to our in-person closing celebration on July 22.
- Invite your friends and family to join the adventure by forming a team and/or sharing on social media.
- On July 12, start logging your "miles". These can be literal miles (walking, running, biking, or dancing...) or "Ambassador Miles" (telling someone new about NKFW, encouraging organ donation, or convincing someone to learn their risk of kidney disease).
- NEW THIS YEAR! Gather your team and join NKFW for our Cool Beans Closing Celebration in Monona, WI on Saturday, July 22. This closing celebration is a chance for our adventurers to come together as a community, to honor those impacted by kidney disease or transplantation, and to give out our 2023 awards.
Challenge yourself to log a total of 19 miles as we work to change the statistic that only 1 in 9 people with kidney disease are aware that they have it.

Games and Activities to Follow
Cool Beans Adventure can be celebrated from anywhere, but in recent years we've missed the opportunity to get together. This year, on Saturday, July 22 you are invited to join us at Monona Fireman's Park Shelter (920 Progressive Ln, Monona, WI 53716) for a morning of family-friendly kidney fun in the sun. The day will open with a short walk across the park to Winnequah Park Gazebo with a brief ceremony reflecting on organ transplant and the gift of life at 9:30 AM. We will then return to Fireman's Park Shelter for games, Cool Beans awards, and celebration.
Light snacks will be provided, but feel encouraged to bring a picnic and your favorite camp chair.
2023 Award Categories
- Biggest Party - The team with the most registered participants
- FUNdraising Heros - The team with the most dollars raised
- Kidney Trekker - The individual and the team who log the most miles
- World Traveller - The individual who travels to the Closing Celebration from the farthest distance.

Thank you for joining National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin for Cool Beans Adventure 2023. Our hybrid challenge kicks off today, Wednesday, July 12 and runs through Saturday, July 22. Are you ready to make a difference in the kidney community while engaging in some friendly competition? Let's go!
Challenge
This year's challenge is to log a total of 19 miles as we work to change the statistic that only 1 in 9 people with kidney disease is aware of their condition. Divided equally among the duration of the challenge, this works out to less than 2 miles per day.
How to Log Your Miles
Ready to log some miles? See below for detailed instructions.
- Click on "Results" in the top header.
- At the top of the Results page, click the orange button that says "Submit Virtual Results"
- Search for your registration by name or email address.
- Click the orange button that says "Log Activities"
- Enter your activity for the day or week.
- Click the orange button that says "Submit Activity"
- Continue to check the Results page to see how you rank against other participants.
How to Receive Your Swag Bag
During the registration process for Cool Beans Adventure 2023, you indicated how and if you prefer to receive your Swag Bag. If your preferences have changed, please reach out to me directly at aschellinger@kidneywi.org or 414.897.8669.
Shipped Swag Bags
These will be sent out early next week (week of July 17). If you do not receive your Swag Bag by the end of July and should have received one, please let us know.
Pick Up At NKFW Office
Swag bags will be available for pick up at the NKFW office at the following times. We are happy to make custom arrangements if necessary.
