Our team is walking to support the work of Hope in Focus and the families living with Leber congenital amaurosis (LCA) and inherited retinal diseases.
Behind every diagnosis is a child, a parent, and a family navigating an uncertain future. One of the families in our community shared their story about their son, who was diagnosed with LCA as a baby. From the beginning, they were told his vision loss was severe and that there were very few options.
But they refused to give up hope.
They searched for information, connected with other families, and found a community through Hope in Focus. Today, because of advances in research and clinical trials, families like theirs are beginning to see possibilities that didn’t exist just a few years ago. For the first time, treatments for some forms of LCA are moving closer to reality.
That progress happens because of a community that shows up.
We are walking to support families navigating this journey today and to help accelerate the research that could change the future for children diagnosed tomorrow.
