Help Us Raise Funds to Protect Our Trails!
Thanks for being part of the Spencer Dash! Your support will go directly toward protecting the trails, landscapes, and public lands that make events like this possible.
This summer, KMTA is stepping up to meet a critical need. Due to major staffing cuts at the U.S. Forest Service, there aren’t enough federal resources to maintain the trails we all rely on — including those at Spencer Glacier.
We’re raising funds right now to help. KMTA will be organizing and leading volunteer trail work events this summer throughout the Chugach National Forest to help keep these areas safe, accessible, and open to the public. Without this urgent support, many trails could become overgrown, unsafe, or even closed — and races like this wouldn’t be possible.
By becoming and individual fundraiser, you can help us rally support and make a real impact. Every dollar raised helps protect the places we race, recreate, and love.
Here is an example fundraising message you can share with your friends and family. Feel free to personalize it or change it however you like! After you customize your message, share your individual fundraising link with your network.
This year, I’m racing in the Spencer Dash and raising funds to protect a cause close to my heart: Alaska’s public lands and recreational spaces.
I’m supporting the Kenai Mountains-Turnagain Arm National Heritage Area (KMTA), a nonprofit working to preserve the lands, stories, and communities of the Turnagain Arm and Eastern Kenai Peninsula.
Funds raised will help KMTA organize and lead volunteer trail work events throughout the Chugach National Forest — including at Spencer Glacier. As the federal workforce has shrunk, KMTA is stepping up to help the U.S. Forest Service care for the places we hike, bike, ski, and explore. With fewer hands to maintain these spaces, it’s up to all of us to protect the places we love.
Every donation helps keep trails open, landscapes cared for, and access to Alaska’s wild places possible. I hope you’ll join me.
