Reasons for My Support of the American Cancer Society:
My fiancée, Gemma, serves as a Pathologist Assistant, and her dedication to making a difference in the world through her work leaves me in awe. Every day, she meticulously analyzes specimens, aiding doctors in diagnosing cancer and supporting patients through their journey to recovery. Witnessing her courage in handling such a weighty responsibility has inspired me to embark on this run, just ahead of our marriage.
Furthermore, I run in loving memory of both of my grandfathers who are no longer with us:
Arthur Klein, who I regrettably never had the chance to meet and learn from, as he passed from colon cancer before my birth.
Larry Friedman, who battled lung cancer. Despite the sorrow of his passing, I cherish the fond memories we shared during my childhood.
Participating in this event offers me an opportunity to effect change and pay tribute to those impacted by cancer. By raising funds for groundbreaking research and supporting vital services for cancer patients, I aim to inspire hope in the face of this disease. Joining forces with the American Cancer Society's event, I contribute to the collective effort to eradicate cancer.
Your participation and support would mean the world to me.
The funds raised through this initiative directly benefit cancer patient programs and groundbreaking research, potentially saving countless lives. It's worth noting that this event also celebrates the resilience of over 15.5 million cancer survivors nationwide. The sheer magnitude of this figure underscores the importance of our support. Together, let's make a meaningful impact in the fight against cancer.
