*** Georgia friends, we'll be hosting an in-person 5K trail run/walk at our house on Sunday evening, September 28, at 6 PM. The KARES race is meant to be a virtual run that you can do on your own, so you don't have to come to our in-person event to participate, but we'd love to have you if you are able to join. Call us at 770-402-7611 if you need information on how to get to our house.
The KARES Foundation, founded in 2022, is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals affected by KDM5C genetic variants through advocacy, research, education, and support. KDM5C-related disorder, also known as Claes-Jensen syndrome, is a rare genetic condition caused by variants in the X-linked KDM5C gene, which disrupts neural function and leads to a wide range of developmental, behavioral, and cognitive challenges. With only about 300 diagnosed cases worldwide, KARES fosters a tight-knit community, funds critical research for treatments, and empowers families with resources to navigate this complex condition.
Join our race to support the KARES Foundation’s mission to enhance the lives of those affected by KDM5C variants! Your participation helps raise awareness and funds for groundbreaking research into causes and therapies, as well as community-building initiatives like the 2024 Family and Science Conference, where families connected and shared vital research insights. By running with us, you’ll contribute to a brighter, healthier future for the KARES community, supporting advancements in treatments and resources that make a real difference.
