The Epilepsy Foundation of Hawaii (EFH) hosts the annual Freedom Run and Walk to support care, advocacy, and community epilepsy education and outreach throughout Hawaii. This is a family-oriented event to raise awareness about epilepsy and funds to support our mission to lead the fight to overcome the challenges of living with epilepsy, accelerate therapies to stop seizures, find cures, and save lives.
Epilepsy is the 4th most common neurological condition after migraines, stroke, and Alzheimer’s disease. Epilepsy is more prevalent than autism spectrum disorders, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and cerebral palsy combined. With your support, we can continue to raise awareness of epilepsy and advocate for the individuals living with epilepsy and their families across the state.
The 2023 Freedom Run will be held on July 4, 2023, at Kailua High School. The Freedom Run got its name because it inspires individuals living with epilepsy to strive towards seizure freedom and celebrate that freedom at the run and walk.
EFH appreciates the many years of support from community partners, families, advocates, and the epilepsy community in Hawaii as a whole.
