Eighty Years ago 1st Lt. Forrest S. Chilton III bailed out of his P47 Thunderbolt returning from a bombing run in France and landed somewhere in the English Channel.  He was never found.  I support Project Recovery because I know that families have a lifelong desire to have their love ones found so that they can give them a proper burial.  Project Recovery will be going to Chuuk and Palau in the Pacific where I lived for 8 years to bring back and identify the remains of those missing in WWII.  

I'm participating in this inaugural event because it is a great way to support what I think is an inspiring mission—searching for and bringing home America's missing-in-action (MIA) service members. Through this mission, we show honor and gratitude to those who gave their lives in service to our country and show support to the families of those fallen, missing-in-action service members who have yet to return home.

September 20th is National POW/MIA Recognition Day, and September 29th is National Gold Star Mothers and Families Day. As I complete my miles in September, I can reflect on the sacrifices of our MIAs and their families. It would mean so much to me and to Project Recover to have your support by donating through my page or participating in the challenge yourself!
