About the Mission Miles campaign

Mission Miles is Project Recover's largest fundraising event of the year. Whether you feel strongly about supporting our mission to bring home America's missing-in-action service members (MIAs) or feel strongly about supporting one of our Mission Miles 2024 team members, we are grateful for your support!

Our team members are dedicating the entire month of September to honor America's MIAs and their family members who are still waiting for news about their loved ones today. As our team strives to complete 100 miles, we unite in support of Project Recover's efforts in research, MIA search missions, documentation missions, and recovery missions around the world, with the end goal of returning the remains of our MIAs to their families and country. This is a promise that America makes to our service members. Together, we are helping to keep America's promise.

This event is grounded in the six espoused values of Project Recover:

  1. Respect - for the ultimate sacrifice of America's MIAs, the continued sacrifice of their families today, and for each other.
  2. Responsibility - Project Recover accepts the responsibility to research, plan, and execute the complicated missions to find and bring home our MIAs. Mission Miles team members accept the responsibility of this challenge to spread the word about and garner support for our mission.
  3. Perseverance - Just like the years and decades of perseverance it takes to continue this important and somber mission, it takes perseverance to complete this event.
  4. Collaboration - Project Recover is not only a nonprofit organization; it is also a partnership. We owe our success to the collaboration between us, our partners, and everyone else who contributes to our mission in many ways, such as the Mission Miles team members.
  5. Education - We believe in delivering valuable educational experiences related to our mission to our current and future generations. This event provides an opportunity to educate more Americans across the country about our mission.
  6. Gratitude - We do this all to show our gratitude for the lives we get to live today because of our service members who sacrificed it all.

THANK YOU for supporting this event and Project Recover. Please visit any of the links below for more information and reach out to me if you have any other questions I can answer!

Very Respectfully,

Michelle Abbey
