Lach's Legacy

Donate

Lach’s Legacy is working in the fight against SIDS in South Dakota. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Lach’s Legacy is striving to bring connection, comfort, and hope to newly bereaved families, and to provide funding for SIDS-related research, as well as to increase SIDS and safe-sleep awareness. You can also find us at LachsLegacy.org

By working together we can bring comfort to families when it is difficult to find, education and awareness to those who can reduce a child’s risk of a sudden and unexplained death, and hope for an answer when there is no explanation.

Lach’s Legacy was created in loving memory of Lachlan Jon Edwards (June 21, 2007 to May 12, 2008). He was born in Sioux Falls to David and Brianne Edwards and died unexpectedly during his morning nap while in a loving and attentive daycare setting.
In his short 10 1/2 months on earth, he was loved deeply by many. He was a happy baby with an infectious smile. He loved to play ball, make animal sounds, dance, listen to loved-ones on the phone, play peek-a-boo with his daddy, snuggle with his mommy and share belly laughs with his big brother.
We are now striving to help him create his legacy on earth. The impact of his life and death have traveled like ripples in still water. Because he was here, so many have taken extra precautions to keep their babies safe while sleeping and have learned to appreciate the gift of their own children. Lach will be held closely in our hearts forever.
