I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was just a teenager. When I was first diagnosed I had never heard of anyone else having this. I thought I was all alone. Then once social media became a thing I realized I was far from alone. I’ve had numerous surgeries because of my pcos as well as many trips to the ER when I was younger. I also went from 120 to 180 in a few short months then up from there. I told myself I wasn’t going to be on pain meds for the rest of my life so I learned to deal with the pain. I also gave into the sugar cravings and ate all the wrong things. I’m now taking back over my life. My body is insulin resistant and my hormones use to be out of control. I was always tired, that’s not the case anymore. I decided to start taking my PCOS more seriously and getting knowledge on it. I decided I wasn’t going to hide my PCOS anymore that I was going to own it. This is me taking back my life and this 5k is a huge step in that direction.
