Women motivate each other. Educate each other. Support each other. Inspire each other. Let’s Go Red together to be seen, to be counted, to be heard, to make an impact.
Cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer of women
Since 2004, the American Heart Association’s signature women's initiative, Go Red for Women, has addressed the awareness and clinical care gaps of women’s greatest health threat, cardiovascular disease (CVD). We are prepared to meet the evolving needs of women now, and at every age, every stage and every season of their lives as their trusted, relevant source for credible, equitable health solutions.
I’m honored to be nominated for Go Red for Women’s Woman of Impact campaign, supporting the American Heart Association. Each year, a select group of individuals are nominated because of their passion and dedication to making a difference. The American Heart Association describes nominees as changemakers — people ready to step up, ignite conversations in their communities, and help rewrite the future of women’s heart health. I’m proud to be part of this year’s nationwide class.
As I prepare for the campaign, I’ve brought together a small team of people from different parts of my life — people I respect, trust, and know understand how deeply this cause matters, in ways that are personal and profound. Together, we are working to make the greatest impact possible on women’s heart health by raising critical funds and improving the well-being of our communities. I hope we can count on you for support.
Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women, claiming more lives each year than all forms of cancer combined.
Yet only about half of women know it’s their greatest health threat.
Many women don’t recognize key risk factors like blood pressure and cholesterol — or what healthy levels should be.
That awareness gap costs lives. This campaign exists to change that.
Since 2004, Go Red for Women has worked to close awareness and clinical care gaps around cardiovascular disease — the leading cause of death in women. But there is still so much work to be done. Go Red for Women is committed to funding women-focused research, empowering women to live healthier lives, and supporting women in reducing their risk of cardiovascular disease through all ages and stages of life.
Our team is driven by purpose and focused on impact. We’re building awareness, promoting healthy lifestyles, and raising critical funds. Because together, we are stronger against cardiovascular disease.
