When and where, and what time are the races?
Date: Sunday, September 22, 2024
Where: Golden High School, 701 24th St, Golden, CO, 80401
When: 10K Start 7:45 AM
5K Start: 8 AM
Kids Fun Run: 10:15 (After 5K and 10K Awards)
Can I walk?
Yes. You can walk the courses but it must be at a 20 mph minute pace (after the last person crossing the start line), due to permit security and safety reasons.
Are there water stations on the course?
Yes. Water Stations will be located 11th and Illinois St for both the 5K and 10K. The 10K will also have a 2nd Water Station on Illinois St and near Fossil Trace Trail.
Are strollers allowed on the course?
Yes. Strollers are permitted for both the 5K and 10K races. Strollers are requested to start at the back of the pack to allow for the serious racers to have an easier start.
Are Dogs allowed on the course?
Yes. Well behaved dogs are welcome to participate. Racers with dogs please start at the back of the pack to allow the serious racers to have an easier start. Dogs are not permitted on the Golden High School Football Field. Please be considerate and clean up your dog. Poop bags will be available if you forget.
Is there a Virtual/Sleep in option?
We want everyone to have the opportunity to be part of the Golden Gallop and support the Golden School Foundation. You can register for the Virtual/Sleep-in option HERE.
Is there a Bag Drop?
No. Parking is at the GHS parking lot so please plan accordingly. Any clothing left at the start or on the course will be donated or thrown away.
Are refunds or deferrals provided?
The Golden Gallop is an annual fundraiser organized by the Golden Schools Foundation in support of our Golden articulation area schools. Due to this being a charity event, we do not offer refunds.

Parking is available at the Golden High School and surrounding area (East of Arapahoe).

Timed Results
Is the race timed?
Yes. Timing chips will be located on your race bib.

Awards and Cash Prize
Are there Cash Awards?
Yes. We are offering $150 first place; $100 second place; $50 for third place. These amounts will be for both the male and female for both the 10K and the 5K (total of 12 cash awards). In addition, anyone who sets a new course record will receive a $100 bonus. Age group awards will also be given out for top male & female finishers.

Are there Age Group Awards?
Yes for the top 3 finishers in each age group. Here are the age groups for both 5K & 10K:
M/F for all age groups (10 and Under, 11-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79 and 80+)
Are there finisher medals?
Only for the Kids Fun Run.
Packet Up Pick-Up
Where is Packet Pickup & What Time?
Saturday, September 21st - Packet pickup will take place at Runners Roost located at 2120 Ford Street, Golden, CO from 10am - 4pm or
Sunday (race day), September 22nd - pick up your packet at Golden High School beginning at 7 a.m. until the start of race
Can I exchange my shirt size?
If there are shirts left over on race day after the Kids Fun Run is completed.

Can I register now?
Yes. You can register online HERE.
Registration will also be available at the Golden Runners Roost on Saturday, September 21st, 10am-4pm.
Registration is also available starting Race Day at 7:00am until the start of the race.
Can I register On-Site Race Day?
Yes. Please go to the Race Day Registration que at Golden High School or you can register online until the race starts.
Can I confirm my registration?
Registration confirmation will be emailed to you upon completion.
