KID (Kids In Distress) and FCI (Family Central) are nonprofit organizations dedicated to helping children and families thrive.

Kids In Distress (KID) provides prevention, intervention, and treatment services for children and families affected by abuse, neglect, and other challenges. Through foster care, family support, therapy, and early intervention programs, KID helps build safe, healthy, and nurturing environments for children. In 2019, KID acquired FCI.

Family Central (FCI) focuses on strengthening families through high-quality early education, family support services, and professional training. By empowering parents, caregivers, and educators, FCI helps children develop the skills they need to succeed in school and in life.

Yes, we do offer race-day registration.

1. Navigate to the Race Page: http://www.KIDHero5k.org  
2. Click Register to begin the registration process.
3. Enter your participant information.
4. Select “Yes” under the question - "Would you like to join a Group/Team?"
5. Select Create New Group/Team.
6. Choose a Group/Team Type.
7. Enter (Create) a Group/Team Name.
8. If required, create a Group/Team Password (remember, passwords are case-sensitive).
9. Click Continue and complete your registration.

3. Enter your participant details and select your event.
4. Answer "Yes" when asked, "Would you like to join a Group/Team?"
5. Click Continue and select your team from the dropdown menu.
6. If a password is required, use the password set by your Group Administrator (case-sensitive)

1. Sign-in to http://www.KIDHero5k.org platform and go to your Profile.
2. Under Upcoming Events, click Manage Registration next to your Hero 5K entry.
3. On the left-hand menu, select Group/Team.
4. In the pop-up, choose Join Existing Group/Team and select your team from the dropdown or search for it.
5. Click Continue to finalize your team membership.

No, there is no time limit to complete the race.

Yes, all race participants will receive a medal and shirt. If you registered as a cheerleader, you will only receive a shirt.

Yes, there are restrooms near the start/finish of the course.

Yes, parking is free and located at the NSU Library & Main Parking Garage (3051 Ray Ferraro Jr Blvd, Davie, FL 33314). After parking, please proceed to the Quad just a short walk away for the race check-in, warm up and vendor village.

The start and finish lines are located at 3050 Ray Ferraro Jr Blvd, Davie, FL 33314. The race will start/end in the circle between the library and the parking garage.

No, there is no gear check and bag storage will not be available. Please secure all personal items inside your vehicle before the event.
