Hello BMCP,
I would like to invite all of you to attend the 13th annual Pray Hope Believe 5K Run/Walk held on July 4th at Colerain Township Municipal Complex (4300 Springdale Rd, 45251) – just off the 275 exit. Our family hosts the event to support the nonprofit Pray Hope Believe Foundation which we started to honor the memory of our youngest son, Tony, who died from brain cancer on July 4, 2011 at age 6. Our mission is to fund innovative pediatric brain cancer research – managing the cancer with fewer life-impacting negative side effects. We also provide support activities for young people battling brain cancer and their families. To date, we have funded more than $880,000 in pediatric brain cancer research - primarily at Cincinnati Children's. We are an entirely volunteer-run organization so all funds raised go directly toward research and support.
Despite the hard anniversary, this really is a joyful event and celebration. Many BMCPers have attended through the years and can attest to how great it is. We average more than 1200 folks each year – so that’s good validation that we have something special. We have a flag-raising with some military members, 5K run/walk (competitive or leisurely), superhero sprint for the little ones (with superhero cape and medal), children’s games, basket raffle, food, music and more. Starts at 8:30am – and our whole family is out of there no later than noon – so you can come, have fun, and have the whole day to enjoy other July 4th festivities – or just relax.
