Melanie Mohan was diagnosed with ALS in late May of 2020. She was the fifth person in her family afflicted with the disease. We knew her family's form of the disease was aggressive. She died April 4, 2021.
This awful disease takes life, but it leaves behind incredible stories of love and strength, hope and endurance. As we faced this disease, Melanie's family and friends surrounded her with extraordinary support. We laughed and cried and at the end never left her side. We called ourselves "Team Melanie," and it always brought a smile to her face.
We invite you to become a part of Team Melanie by supporting the Brigance Brigade Foundation 5.7K Race & 1.57M Family-Fun Run/Walk. This amazing organization supported Melanie with a very generous PALS (People living with ALS) grant used to install a chair lift to keep her at the center of our family life. We want to help others in the same way.
Each person who registers for or contributes to this event is making a difference in the lives of those battling ALS, but it is when we rally our neighbors and networks that we can make huge strides for families in the toughest fight of their lives. We are Strong alone, but Champions together.
