Story

On behalf of the Chester County Down Syndrome Interest Group, please accept our sincere thanks for your generous donation to 2020 CCDSIG Virtual Buddy Walk.  The donations we receive help fund activities that promote outreach; the socialization and education of our membership; and inclusion in our community.  Our mission serves all families in Chester County who have a family member who has Down syndrome. We look forward to seeing you at on Sunday, October 11th. If you would like to learn more about our organization, please visit www.ccdsig.org.

With sincere gratitude,

CCDSIG Board

The Chester County Down syndrome Interest Group (CCDSIG) is a nonprofit organization that began in 1998 with a group of parents who wanted to meet for social contact and support. We are students, we are lawyers, we are teachers, we are scientists, we are tradesmen, we are bankers, we are homemakers, we are doctors; we are all people whose lives have been touched by Down syndrome. Our goals have now expanded to include reaching out to new families, providing educational and social opportunities for our existing members, and educating the community in order to promote awareness and inclusion of persons with Down syndrome.

The Chester County Down syndrome Interest Group Inc.’s mission, the UPSIDE of Down syndrome:

  • Unite all members, including people with Down syndrome, their families, their friends and acquaintances.
  • Provide outreach to new families, giving them information, networking opportunities, and support.
  • Supply a means of social interaction for all members.
  • Inform families of current research and topics of interest regarding Down syndrome.
  • Develop community and educational programs to empower individuals with Down syndrome.
  • Educate the community to increase awareness, acceptance, and inclusion of persons with Down syndrome.
