My little cousin Max was the sweetest kid I ever met. I met him when I moved to the U.S. back in 2017, he wasn't really my cousin but he was my cousin (one of those things of being Latina, everyone is family!). I met him on his birthday actually and I his lovely personality got stuck with me. A few years later, during 2020 in the middle of a world pandemic he found himself fighting nothing but cancer. He was only 10 years old and was battling cancer instead of playing four corners like any other kids of his age.
Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital became his home for almost a year. After trying everything possible he passed away on Thanksgiving day of 2020.
He was only 11 since his birthday was a few days before he left us. Max will be forever 11 years young. I know JHACH did everything they could to save him. His staying there was the best my family could ever ask.
Doctors, nurses, and care providers do as much as is in their hands to save many lives day after day but they are not alone, On the other side of JHACH, there is a whole army of heroes (researchers) working tirelessly to find cures to cancer and many other diseases, consider support their efforts and work by donating today.
Help me raise funds so other kids like Max can keep fighting their battles!
