Hello Event Participants,

Thank you for participating in the 13th Annual 5K for Fragile X Run/Walk Fundraiser & Family Fun Day/Expo. We truly appreciate your support in raising awareness and funds for the Fragile X community. We are better and stronger together.

Please look for event signage to guide you to parking and the event area. After passing through the payment booth, continue straight and turn left into the small parking lot.

 

Parking Information:

-General parking: $12 per car (credit/debit card accepted; if paying cash, please bring the exact amount)

-Seniors (65+) and vehicles with handicap placards: $5

-Free parking is available outside the park; please read and follow posted parking signs

 

Weather:

-Rain or shine, the event goes on.  Dress in layers.  Superhero costumes are optional. Official 13th Annual 5K T-shirts are guaranteed for participants who register no later than March 21st, 2026.

 

What to Bring:

-Beach chairs, blankets, umbrellas, rain ponchos, canopies—anything that will help you stay comfortable.  We will have free food and beverages available, but feel free to bring any preferred items.

 

Check-In Information

-Opens at 09:00 am

-If you registered online in advance, please visit the table marked “Check-In” to check in and receive your T-shirt (guaranteed for those who registered by March 21st).

-If you have not registered yet, please scan QR code posted near “Check-in” table to register online. Volunteers will be available to assist.  Once registered, please proceed to the “Check-In” table to check in.  A T-shirt may be available while supplies last.

 

Schedule of Events (Subject to Change)

9:00 am:  Check-in Opens

-During this time, take photos with superheroes, enjoy music by DJ William Perez, check out all the great items at the raffle tables, visit sponsor booths, create a team sign, and find a spot on the lawn to gather your team.

09:45 am:  Opening remarks:

Dr. Gary Feldman from the Fragile X Clinic at Miller’s Children’s Hospital, Long Beach, and Gretchen Slusser FRAXSOCAL President

10:15 am:  Group photo

All participants, sponsors, and volunteers to gather near starting area for group photo

10:30 am:  Run/Walk/Roll begins.  

Enjoy the course, or hang back and relax. The choice is yours

11:00 am – 2:00 pm:  Family Fun Day

-Free food available: slice of pizza, chips, cookie, and water

-DJ William Perez providing music throughout the event

-Raffle

-Superhero characters

-Face painting 

-Sponsor booths

-Yard Games

-Playground

 

Raffle:

Ticket price: $2 per ticket, 3 tickets for $5

Raffle drawing: 1245pm.  Must be present to win

 

Run/Walk Route:

A map of the park and route will be available onsite.
