The Fragile X Association of Southern California (FRAXSOCAL) is hosting our 14th annual 5K for Fragile X and Family Fun Day event on Saturday, April 17, 2027. We would love your support whether it is as a participant, as a sponsor, or by donating an item for our raffle. .
Fragile X Syndrome is the leading cause of inherited intellectual disability and the leading single gene cause of Autism. It is a spectrum disorder and can range from mild to profound impairment. The Fragile X Association of Southern California (FRAXSOCAL- Non-Profit Tax ID # 95-4546917) was established in 1996 by parents of children with Fragile X syndrome and continues to be run by dedicated parent volunteers. The mission of our organization is to promote public awareness of Fragile X syndrome with a special emphasis on educators and health professionals; provide a forum for families of children with Fragile X to meet and share their ideas, concerns and problems; and support scientific research of Fragile X syndrome.
FRAXSOCAL fulfills these goals by reaching out to various community groups to promote awareness of Fragile X, as we are doing now. We support families in a variety of ways, including:
- Host free educational seminars presented by experts in Fragile X Syndrome to promote the best outcomes for those with Fragile X Syndrome and their caregivers.
- Provide financial support to caregivers to attend educational events and conferences.
- Provide financial support to the Fragile X Clinic at MIller’s Children Hospital in Long Beach, CA.
- Provide support and guidance to newly diagnosed families connecting them to a wealth of resources.
- Host quarterly Family Fun Day events throughout Southern California—completely free for families. Meet other families, share experiences, and enjoy inclusive activities together.
- Host a free monthly Support Group for caregivers led by a licensed therapist.
- Provide financial support to Fragile X Syndrome medical research.
The FRAXSOCAL 5K and Family Fun Day is our largest event of the year!! We started in 2013 with only 40 people in attendance and have grown each year with over 400 participants at our 2026 race! The race is family friendly but also a good challenge for those avid runners! Your support helps us fulfill our mission as well as support the various Fragile X research organizations including our local Fragile X Clinic’s at Miller’s Children’s Hospital in Long Beach and Thompson Autism and Neurodevelopmental Center at CHOC.

Company Logo: To ensure your company logo is included on applicable promotional materials, sponsorships must be confirmed by the associated deadline. Sponsors wanting benefits must submit electronic logos in JPEG format (jpegs at a minimal 300 dpi at actual size) for color or black and white. Logos due by March 15, 2026.
