Flight For Life is a critical care air medical transport service that provides helicopter transportation for patients needing critical care service within a 350-mile radius from Tyler, Texas. Flight For Life serves over 100,000 square miles of Northeast Texas, Western Louisiana, and Southern Oklahoma and currently operates three bases across this service area. Flight For Life helicopters are located in Palestine, Winnsboro, and Gregg Counties, and the Flight For Life fixed-wing aircraft is located in Tyler to provide rapid access to our coverage area. Our team includes a pilot, flight nurse and a flight paramedic who are specially trained in adult, pediatric and critical care. In December of 1985, the Flight For Life air medical program was born when CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances recognized a need for rapid transport, in a critical care environment, of catastrophically ill and injured patients from isolated rural medical facilities and EMS agencies to more advanced care centers such as CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital.
