I am writing this in honor of my brave husband, Bill Griffin. Persistent coughing, in 2018, lead to the discovery of non small cell carcinoma in his right lung. Dr. Putnam at M.D .Anderson (love this man) removed the lower lobe of his right lung. Chemotherapy followed for the next 4 months. May of 2022 , an MRI revealed that the cancer had metastasized to his left lung, as well as, the occipital lobe of his brain...Stage IV cancer. The team of Dr. Savageau, Dr. Cavaliere and Dr. Olson (love these 3, and Lisa H.)) decided that radiation to the brain and Tagrisso (oral medication) were the best choices. Since these treatments, there has been minimal growth in lung and possible shrinkage in the brain. Praise the Lord!! Bill is doing very well and one would never suspect his condition. We are forever grateful for our family, friends, church and everyone at M.D. Anderson. Most of our praise, of course, goes to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We pray that the Lord watches over all those battling this disease, their families and all of the care teams at M.D. Anderson.
