Bobo Catoe Jr. - Chef de Cuisine

Bobo Catoe is Alewife’s Chef de Cuisine. He grew up in a house that his grandfather built in Sumner, MS, a town in the MS Delta with a population that hovers around 300. He came to Richmond and worked at both Heritage and Southbound after previously working at Husk in Charleston, SC. Cooking in Virginia has been an inspiring experience for Bobo. “The up and coming cultivators in the state are providing all manner of great products. People are passionate starting in the fields and that makes putting better products on plates much easier.” Bobo’s focus as a chef is to provide simple, great food while engaging in conscious sourcing and purchasing practices that in turn will give back to the community and allow both entities to grow.
