I’m running the Cambridge Half Marathon for the American Cancer Society because cancer has deeply affected the people I love, and in doing so has also left a mark on me too. I’ve seen firsthand how tough it is to go through, and how hard it is to watch someone you care about fight that battle.
This run isn’t just in memory, it’s also about hope. Hope that fewer families will have to face what mine and so many others have and that even during the toughest times, there’s still strength and love to hold on to. Every mile is a reminder of why I’m doing this.
I’m running for Missy, Gary, and Joey. Their strength, their spirit, and the love they left behind are always with me. This run is to honor them and everyone else battling this awful disease.
