Thank you for visiting Luke’s fundraising page!
Luke has had a two year battle with a diagnosis of intractable epilepsy and ESES. Intractable epilepsy means that very likely medications will never be successful at completely controlling Luke’s epilepsy. ESES is a diagnosis of constant seizure activity during non REM sleep (so keep dreaming all the time Luke!!). ESES carries a grim prognosis of cognitive stagnation or cognitive decline. We are fighting with everything in us to stop that progression and avoid that outcome. Many doctors still do not have the a clear path for early intervention to prevent decline. There is much action and treatment once the decline has occurred but as you can imagine, we don’t want to get to that place!
When he is out and about playing- he is the most lively, vibrant, fun, engaged happy almost 6 year old!! No one would ever know what this sweet boy has gone through! We are so proud of his strength and courage through many doctors visits and testing that many times comes up with more questions than answers, yet we keep digging! Luke keeps fighting and Grant and I will keep fighting for him!
Help us rally around Luke, celebrate his fight, courage and strength and raise money for more research and more answers!
The Epilespy association is a local organization and therefore can really make a big impact on Luke’s care and future!
The Epilepsy Association is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals affected by seizure disorders in Northeast Ohio. All funds raised will support social services and programs to raise awareness about epilepsy.
